Reviews Page

On this page you can view the reviews retrieved by the plugin. Please note that the Google Places API only allows for 5 reviews
to be retrieved at a time. We will continue to check via the API every day or so and using a data base store the reviews for you
so over time you can have more than 5 reviews. You can “promote” certain reviews by making these the reviews you show if you
have more than the number of reviews to be displayed.

WordPress Widget and Shortcode

Display Google Places reviews on your WordPress site using our widget or shortcode. The following settings are supported:

  • Widget Title: Add Widget Title (Optional)
  • Place Lookup: Start typing your Business Name and select it when it auto completes.
  • Lookup Type: Having trouble finding the correct business? Try narrowing down the results by having the Place Lookup search only by business name – “Establishments”, by address – “Addresses”, or by area – “Regions”.
  • Place Name: Once the correct business is selected from “Places Lookup” this will auto fill.
  • Place ID: Once the correct business is selected from “Places Lookup” this will auto fill.
  • Show Reviews Only: By default the plugin will display your business data. If checked the widget will not show your business data.
  • Maximum Excerpt Length: Chose the length of excerpts that will look best for your site.
  • Show # Reviews: Pick the number of reviews to show.
  • Total # of Reviews: Enter the number of reviews that you have on your google places page. The Google API does not allow us to get this info for you, so you have to manually add it for your review schema output.
  • Minimum Review Rating: If you only want to show 4 star or 5 Star reviews you can select the appropriate setting.

When using a shortcode, use the Place Lookup field on the Settings page to look up the Place ID for your business.

I'd like to start off by saying that i'm using this plugin on 2 websites and it's working on both. With that said, this plugin definitely needs some work and the fact that it hasn't been updated in 8 months is not a good sign. I almost gave up on it because the built in Places ID finder doesn't work as well as the one google has, i put in the name of the company i was making this for (City Boss Residential Roofing) and it came up with nothing, had to go to google maps to find it, then used the address listed there, which is not an exact one since it's set to service a 60km radius around a specific address that is not listed, so the address was a very general one (Calgary, AB, Canada). So i got the name and address that showed up in google maps (City Boss Residential Roofing, Calgary, AB, Canada) and put that in the Places ID finder (https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/places-placeid-finder) then finally that found the right places ID. But i could have just put in the name of the company straight into the google places ID finder and it also works. Until you get the right places ID nothing works, it's like all that API key BS i had to do didn't do anything. Google also needs to work on this, they could have provided the places ID in the Google Business backend somewhere. Dropped another star because none of the avatars show up, also the total number of reviews it says the business has is not automatically retrieved (like the rating), if you remove the shortcode it says you have 0 reviews, so you have to change the shortcode to match, or you can just as easily lie and say your business has 10 million reviews. And another because the widget is completely broken, doesn't search for anything you type and you can't manually add the Places ID, for some stupid reason. Thankfully you can just use the same shortcode in a text widget.

Installation is ok. If I use the short code within [] it doesn't work and shows instead of all the code on the website. If I use the widget it shows the reviews. The only reason I wanted to use this plugin is that it offers Google Rich Snippets. Once you put the page to be analyzed by Google Structured data, you can see errors: A value for the image field is required. warningaddress The address field is recommended. Please provide a value if available. warningpriceRange The priceRange field is recommended. Please provide a value if available. warningtelephone The telephone field is recommended. Please provide a value if available. So based on the installation and test on my website it doesn't work perfectly. It might be something to fix or to tweak. Looking forward for improvements and available to test it on my website. Cheers Donald

Después de probar otros que no funcionan me quedo con este. A pesar de tener pocas puntuaciones va genial.

It has features that were needed but missing from other decent plugins. Like being able to filter out specific reviews. Others only filtered by numbers of stars.
